We started Thursday with a morning walk in Downtown Denver, which took us to the State Capitol building, something we could compare to the Parliament. As part of the information-packed one-hour tour, we looked at the building from the inside, we even saw the assembly of the "lower chamber". I personally went to the Capitol in 2010, but that time they didn't take us up to the balcony around the dome, which gave us an incredible view of all of Denver all around this time.
A shopping marathon ensued for Avalanche souvenirs and other items. We were in the team store in the Ball Arena, but also in Sportsfan and Bill's Sports Collectibles. We also went to the big Colorado Mills shopping center. Everyone fulfilled their own goals, the credits got busy, especially in Altitude Authentics. There were also some personal records...
Between shopping, we squeezed in lunch at the Czech hockey bar Sobo 151, whose owner Filip and Petr are big supporters of Eurolanche. We couldn't resist the Czech beer and were happy to meet our long-time friends.
The day went by quickly, but we were basically still moving and flying somewhere within Denver. The night didn't go as planned as the Avs blew a three-goal lead and lost.
