After a night chaos and a few hours of sleeping we were ready for a first part of our road trip to Dallas. A day began with a triple visits to some most beautiful and interesting locations in Colorado. Firstly, Royal Gorge Bridge the highest suspension bridge in the world amazed us in a combination with sunny weather. Tremendous views to mountains and canyon. Like a small Grand Canyon as someone noted.
Two hours later, our next steps brought us to the Gator Farm. Gators, emu, turtles, fish and other animals were ready for our attention. We could spend hours there. It was breathtaking to have hundreds of gators in front of you. We could again write how we loved the surrounding nature. Mix it with the aforementioned animals and you get a perfect location. To be exact, we did not know what else we should amazed in the first half of the day. Everything was amazing. Peaks full of snow or naked, endless prairies...
It took us a moment to went to the nearby Great Sand Dunes National Park, not for the first time in Eurolanche's history. Mountains full of snow behind, dunes like from Africa in front of them. There is no bigger contrast. It was the third huge experience for those of our members who never been in this part of Colorado before.
For the rest of a day we were driving for the next five hours, almost eight in total, to New Mexico. Yes, some of us were there in the past, but only for few minutes, so the real premiere began. Mountains were quickly replaced by desert, night, endless roads going only straight, almost no other cars, a real horror. Finally, our day ended in the evening in Tucumcari that is right on Route 66 that awaits on us for the next day. Thus we could not miss a chance to take evening photos of one of the most famous old style motels not only in this town, Blue Swallows.
