We spent a morning at the Castle Rock Outlets for the first time ever after recommendations from our friends. It was worth to visit due to cheap prices, but at the end we would need more time to use it at the best. After a lunch at the steakhouse we could continue to the main part of our schedule.

At the start I have to point at one big difference between 2016 and 2020. This time, the game was not scheduled to play in a downtown or in a city at all. It was all happening in a closed military base, Air Force Academy, which required to use cars for all visitors. This had caused the first chaos, delays. Those fans who did not leave really soon, they missed first two periods. There is also ongoing reconstruction of a main road between Denver and Colorado Springs which has not helped either, plus one major accident happened there yesterday as well. Fortunately, we departed early and use an alternative route. Yes, we had to wait in a traffic jam already in the base, but after another wave of chaos we finally parked near the arena.

Unfortunately, we could not enjoy any of the pregame activities as they were never ending lines with hundreds of people waiting. It was the same with the merchandise kiosks and restrooms. The whole places was in one big mud, so it was not easy to walk there either. After seeing that, we made a decision to enter the arena. Suddenly, one of our members had started to feeling very bad and almost fall down. At this place, I would like to thank to the medical staff who helped him to get better thus he could enjoy the game. It was really scary.

Pregame show was excellent as well as flying jets. I really enjoyed a connection between such big event and the army. This whole stuff was much better to me than in 2016. But the score... Weak effort by Avs, only one goal scored after the Kings goalie fall down, a disaster at the end... Did we wait for this for two years? For this? We were really frustrated and sad at the end of the game. When we came back to the hotel, we found out most of the fans are still at the parking lot. A chaos again.

At least, we appeared on NBC in a live short interview during the game of which we will show you a video soon. We were interviewed also by the NHL International and two TV stations from Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
