Today we are in Chicago and start our day off at the John Hancock observatory in order to go up to the 94th floor to take in the breath taking views over the city but also The Tilt. The Tilt consisting of being a leaning frame which tilts you out 30 degrees from the building to get a 'close up' view of the city.
Next on the agenda was a quick breakfast at the cheesecake factory as we wanted to go across the street to the hotel in order to try meet the team on their way back from practice. We had some minor success as Kerfoot and Varlamov signed some autographs and took some photos.
After this Lukasz took Maja and myself to a planetarium on college campus in order to get some more photos of down town in day light hours. We decides to go back to the hotel to meet the rest of the group but also see if we could meet some more players before Lukasz had to go back for his car. We managed to meet coach Bednar and after we left the rest of the group met Landeskog and Zadorov.
Time for the game and yet again what a game it turned out to be as Varlamov withstood just about everything the Blackhawks could fling at him and Avs win 5-3 with 2 goals each from J.T Compher and Carl Soderberg and a single strike from the captain Landeskog to take the points and keep the Avalanche pushing for an all important playoff spot and meanwhile damaging Chicago's chances so all in a brilliant effort from the guys.
Next up is the dreaded 4 and a half hours drive to Salem, Kentucky in order to take a quick nap before making the rest of the drive to Nashville and a 4pm face off.
Lets keep the momentum going guys. We want more wins.
