We had a beautiful program prepared for Friday, which started early in the morning. Unfortunately, the weather, the Dallas airport, and Frontier Airlines threw a pitchfork at us. We didn't get to the room until around three in the morning. But like the Avs in the series, we didn't give up and battled (to get up really early in the morning and it really reminded me of a fight (laughs)). We had refreshments and set off on the roughly three-hour journey to Pikes Peak.
Pikes Peak is a famous Rocky Mountain peak at 14,155 feet. Because we love you, we'll also tell you that it's 4302 meters after the conversion. The metric system in the US is insane. On the other hand, nature is incredible. The hills, the winding roads, the views, everything was breathtaking. Originally, our journey was supposed to end about 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) below the summit. Eventually, however, the road (of excellent quality, by the way) was opened up to the very top for visitors. Eurolanche thus "raised their banner" on this spectacular mountain.
After Pikes Peak, we moved directly to the city center. Due to the route, we decided to stay in the city until the evening and smoothly move on to the match. In the center, a visit to the Capitol, the famous "ONE MILE ABOVE SEA LEVEL" step, the most famous 16th Street Mall - unfortunately under reconstruction at the time - sports shops, souvenir shops, Union Station and finally Larimer Street, where the jerseys are displayed during the playoffs, could not be missed Avs players
In terms of time and distance, we were getting closer to the match, respectively the hall. This time we went to the stadium much earlier, got to the seats behind the boards and watched the team's warm-up from close range. During the evening we met, among others, Marc Moser and Jake Schroeder. It is great how they support Eurolanche and what a warm relationship they have with our chairman David, who represents our organization. Sometimes I ask myself if Dado is just a boy from Slovakia or a rock star who appeared in town. It's amazing how much support Eurolanche gets thanks to him.
We will not discuss the match for too long. A great start and the majority of the game clearly better performance of the Avs, we were looking forward to game 7, which we were supposed to watch in the Czech restaurant Sobo 151. Unfortunately, the Avalanches did not jump in the score and Dallas punished. Bitter.
The feeling of emptiness will hopefully go away overnight and we will continue with the pedal on the floor. Denver is a wonderful place and we will confirm that again tomorrow
