It was shame when the sun and hot temperatures appeared in Chicago on Wednesday's morning, when our group was about to left the city after two rainy, snowy and cold days. What a view it would be from the skyscraper today... Whatever, we had to move according to our plan, so we have rented a mini van like in Denver, now in Chicago Downtown and were driving for the next three hours of south direction to Indianapolis, a capital city of Indiana State. Eurolanche appeared there for the first time in the history.
We had a one-hour tour in the Downtown, when we could not miss to visit all famous, nice and old War memorials and buildings. Indianapolis is really small city without skyscrapers and with only less than one million people, but it has its atmosphere, nice architecture, a history and a calmness.
Our next steps were going to one of the most famous race tracks in the world - the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, a hosting place of the Indy 500 one time a year. Even Michael Schumacher won there several titles in different races. One lap is 2,5 miles that is around 4 kilometers. We were lucky because our guide took us as the alone group right to the track by bus. We could even walk there and took a group photo on the start/finishing line. Our guide told us about a brick line right above the main line - the winners used to kiss bricks for a luck and celebration altogether - so we did the same and one of the most iconic photos in our history was taken. The museum visit was the great experience and I really recommend it to everyone.
Afterwards we were driving for the next 90 minutes. Our final destination for Wednesday was a town of Richmond, Indiana, where we checked in at the motel for just one night. Thursday will be about driving to Columbus, Ohio for our second Avalanche away game.
